About Ethiopian Airlines
Ethiopian Airlines is the national airline of Ethiopia based in Addis Ababa. It was founded in 1945. Bole International Airport is used as a hub. The first flight operated by this company linked Cairo to Asmara and was carried out on April 8, 1946. After the success of this first flight, a regular line was established. Subsequently, other domestic lines were put in place.At the end of the 1940s the network was extended to Nairobi and Bombay. In 1952, 21 cities were connected to the capital by Ethiopian Airlines. In 1959, an airline was opened to Frankfurt. In 1961 an east-west line was inaugurated, linking Addis Ababa to Liberia. It was then the first direct air link between West Africa and East Africa.In 1962, Ethiopian Airlines was the first African airline to order Airbuses. On January 16, 1963 a new line was set up in the direction of Madrid.In April 1996, on the fiftieth anniversary of Ethiopian Airlines, the airline’s network expanded to China and Thailand, serving Beijing and Bangkok.

Ethiopian Airlines Check-in
Online check-in is available to most airports from 48 to 2 hours before the scheduled start. You must print out the boarding pass yourself. Ethiopian Airlines Baggage Allowance
Business Class passengers are allowed to accept a maximum of two hand luggage units of 8 kg on board, as long as they are not larger than 115 cm (L + H + B). In economy class, the weight limit is 7 kg. In addition, each passenger may carry a personal item free of charge, such as a handbag, a camera, reading material for the flight or a laptop.
The permissible baggage is strongly dependent on route and booking class. The baggage allowance can be ascertained on the website of the airline with a free baggage calculator. The baggage restrictions are only shown for flights across the Atlantic: In Economy Class, the maximum weight of one piece of luggage is 23 kg and the business class is 32 kg. Bags that are heavier are not accepted. On long-haul flights from / to the USA with Ethiopian Airlines may be carried in Economy Class two times 23 kg and in the Cloud Nine two times 32 kg. Sheba Miles Gold, Silver and Star Gold passengers may carry an additional bag. For children with no seat of their own, a bag of 10 kg can be carried.
With other luggage always extra costs. Sport equipment is usually transported more favorably. For a ski equipment, a lump sum of 3 kg and a golf kit a total of 6 kg over-luggage are charged.

The business class at Ethiopian Airlines is called Cloud Nine.
