About Aerolineas Argentinas
Aerolineas Argentinas is a state-owned Argentine airline. Aerolíneas Argentinas is also the largest airline in the South American country based in the capital, Buenos Aires. Founded in May 1949 by the Argentine Ministry of Transport, Aerolineas Argentinas is the result of a merger between four airlines, Fama, Alfa, Aeroposta and Zonda. Officially, Aerolineas Argentinas was created by decree on December 7 and became a state enterprise.
In the 1990’s it was temporarily privately owned until it was nationalized again due to debt. As the largest airline in the country, the airline is the flag carrier. The airline’s route network is star-shaped, i.e. all destinations are served by Jorge Newbery or Ministro Pistarini airports in Buenos Aires.
The airline has its own frequent flyer program: Aerolíneas Plus. The miles you have earned can be redeemed in flight tickets, rental cars or hotel accommodation, among other things. Aerolíneas Argentinas is currently in a phase of modernization, which is also evident from the renewal of the fleet.

Aerolineas Argentinas Check-in
Aerolineas Argentinas offers passengers three check-in options: at the counter, at the machine and online.
Aerolineas Argentinas online check-in is not possible for flights to and from Europe, the USA and some destinations in South and Central America. However, for all other destinations that the airline controls, this service can be used between 36 and two hours before departure. Another exception applies to passengers with paper tickets, children traveling alone and passengers with special care.
Click the button below to check in online.
The opening times of the counters for regional, national and international flights depend on the travel route, the departure airport and the baggage. As a rule, the counters for travelers with suitcases to be checked close two to three hours before departure. For passengers without a suitcase, the closing times of the check-in counters vary between 60 and 120 minutes. With self-check-in at the machine, the check-in times also differ from the travel route, the airport and luggage. Customers can get accurate information from the airline’s website.
Aerolineas Argentinas Baggage Allowance
Maximum dimensions: 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm. Maximum weight on flights within Argentina in Economy Class is five kilograms, in Club Economy Class ten kilograms. On international flights, the maximum weight in all classes is ten kilograms.

A pair of skis can usually be taken along free of charge. Golf luggage or fishing equipment is free on many flights as long as it is no heavier than 15 kilograms and no larger than 158 centimeters. Aerolineas Argentinas Seat Selection
Aerolineas Argentinas does not currently offer its passengers a seat reservation and distributes the seats as part of the check-in. However, passengers who need more space on the plane can book an additional seat. This is done using a separate form, which can be found on the airline’s website. Comfort seats with more legroom, on the other hand, cannot be booked in advance.
Aerolineas Argentinas Knee Distance
Because of the airlines who want to reduce the cost of flying more passengers, knee distance is very important especially on long haul flights. The front seats and emergency exit seats are the seats with the highest knee distance. It is generally sold for a fee.
Aerolíneas Plus Frequent Flyer Program
Registration for the Aerolineas Plus bonus program is free of charge and without any requirements. However, it can only be carried out on the airline’s homepage, so that Internet access is a mandatory requirement. If you are registered, you can immediately earn miles on flights with Aerolineas Argentinas and the SkyTeam and view them in your online account. Other partners, including hotels and rental car companies, make it possible to earn miles and offer participants some advantages.
The course of the frequent flyer program Aerolineas Plus
The awards can be claimed at Aerolineas Argentinas and in the SkyTeam and are primarily free flights and upgrades to a better flight class. The miles flown with Aerolineas Plus are valid for three years. The miles flown each year also calculate whether the member is included in the elite status and whether this is gold or platinum. Who flies over 25,000 miles becomes a gold member, 50,000 miles are required for platinum membership. The benefits of flying in the Elite status of Aerolineas Plus become more luxurious with the status achieved and include accelerated check-in and priority boarding, free excess baggage of up to 20 kg and worldwide lounge access with an accompanying person.
Aerolineas Argentinas Food & Beverage
As usual with a scheduled airline with a classic concept, food and drinks on board at Aerolíneas Argentinas are included in the flight price. However, the airline does not give examples of typical on-board catering in the economy on its official website. Passenger testimonials in the internet forum speak of tortilla, caesar salad and a dessert or lasagna and rice dishes as main dishes. The scope of on-board catering in the economy therefore also depends on the respective flight destination and the duration of the trip.
Premium Eco and special meals
The premium eco of other airlines at Aerolíneas Argentina is probably most comparable to the Club Economy booking class. Aerolíneas Argentinas does not provide any information on whether and, if so, how this higher booking class affects board catering. However, it is possible to pre-order special meals on international flights up to 72 hours before departure. The offer here ranges from children’s and baby menus to diet food, vegetarian and lactose-free or gluten-free meals to on-board catering prepared according to kosher or Muslim rules.
The business class at Aerolíneas Argentina is called Club Condor. Argentine Airlines does not provide official on-board catering information for this booking class either. Passengers suggest that plastic dishes are also eaten in the Business / Club Condor and that meals cannot compete with the often luxurious offers of other airlines.
