About Olympic Air
Olympic Air is the airline that derived from the privatization of Olympic Airlines (former Olympic Airways). Olympic was first established in 1957 by Aristotle Onassis and became for years the flag carrier airline of Greece. Olympic Air is based in Attica, east of Athens. Before the airline got its current name, it was called Olympic Airlines. In 2012, Olympic Air has been acquired by Aegean Airlines. Only after the privatization was it renamed Olympic Air, and air traffic was discontinued on certain international routes.
Olympic Air is based at the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” and has secondary hubs at Thessaloniki “Macedonia” Airport and Rhodes “Diagoras” Airport.

Olympic Air Classes of Service
Airline offers 3 classes of service to its passengers:
Free tea, coffee, beverages and food according to the flight timing, in-flight entertainment through overhead video screens, in seat audio systems and Greek and foreign news papers are some of the facilities provided to Economy Class passengers.
Premium Economy Class (available aboard Bombardier Q400)
More spacious seats, food and alcoholic drinks, higher weight limit for check-in baggage are some of the facilities provided to Premium Economy Class passengers.
Exquisite meals and beverages, special sleeper seat, personal video screen with remote control, height and side adjustable headrest, adjustable footrest and seatback, dishes prepared by master chiefs and access to lounges are some of the facilities provided to Business Class passengers.
After the acquisition, Olympic Air operates mainly domestic routes and 5 international to Belgrade, Bucharest, Sofia, Tirana and Istanbul.
Olympic Air has been awarded with an ERA Silver Award for the Airline of the Year 2010/11.
Olympic Air was nominated Top Domestic Airline by the Condé Nast Traveller 2011 Readers Choice Awards.

Olympic Air Baggage Allowance
In Economy Class, a traveler can take a piece of hand luggage up to a maximum of eight kilograms and 55 x 40 x 23 centimeters. In Premium Economy Class, one piece of hand luggage can be taken up to a maximum of eight kilograms and one to a maximum of five kilograms. The permissible external dimensions remain the same. Small children are allowed to carry one bag of six kilograms and children (two to twelve years) are allowed to carry one bag of eight kilograms.
In Economy Class, a piece of luggage weighing 23 kilograms may be carried. Gold members can check in two pieces of luggage weighing 23 kilograms each. The maximum permissible external dimensions of a piece of luggage are 114 centimeters. In the Premium Economy, one piece of luggage weighing 32 kilograms may be carried. Gold Members can take two pieces of luggage weighing 32 kg each. The maximum permissible external dimensions are 158 centimeters. A piece of luggage weighing up to 23 kilograms and 114 centimeters is allowed for children up to the age of twelve. Electronic devices, important documents, money, jewelry, medication, keys and other fragile or valuable items should be carried in hand luggage and not in checked baggage.
An extra seat can be booked for large musical instruments. There is no additional charge for sports luggage weighing up to 15 kilograms and 140 centimeters in size. Fees of at least 35 euros will be charged for other items of luggage.
