About Helvetic Airways
Founded in 2003 to serve as an extension to the airline company Odette Airways, Helvetic Airways began its first flights to south-eastern Europe with a Fokker 100. Thanks to a fleet of 7 aircraft, it is developing its air network in 2004.
In April 2008, Helvetic Airways and the Horizon Swiss Flight Academy Ltd. join forces to cope with the increase in air traffic and come together in the Helvetic Airways Group. The company developed by creating a new base at Bern airport in October 2010, then by establishing a partnership with the company TIXI Zurich in 2011.
The first maintenance operations of Helvetic Airways took place in November 2011, following the obtaining of OFAC and EASA certifications. The fleet grew in December 2012 with the rental of an Airbus 319 from AWAS, received in May 2013. The partnership between Swiss and Helvetic Airways was extended in September 2012 and then in 2018, Helvetic operating flights for Swiss. A Zurich-Bordeaux link was launched on May 8, 2014. 2019 is a pivotal year for the company’s fleet. The last Fokker 100 is abandoned and the first Embraer 190 has been delivered. To date, Helvetic Airways serves 34 destinations with a fleet of 16 aircraft.

Helvetic Airways Classes of Service
By boarding a Helvetic Airways aircraft, passengers will have access to two classes. In Economy class, travelers can buy sandwiches and alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks for dining, in addition to snacks and water served free of charge. It is advisable to bring entertainment equipment (MP3, tablets, books, game consoles …), as there is none in the aircrafts. There are also no blankets or pillows. Passengers in Viva Business class (equivalent to Business class) receive free meals of a higher quality, as well as drinks with or without alcohol. Each class has its own on-board staff who provide quality service. During the journey, travelers enjoy the flight seated in comfortable leather seats and can purchase duty-free items.
