Virgin Atlantic About Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic is a British airline based in Crawley near London. Virgin Atlantic belongs to the Virgin group. The company was founded in 1984. The airline’s hubs are London Heathrow and London Gatwick. The first flight went from London Gatwick to New York.

It was the first airline to use the Herringbone configuration (a diagonal seating arrangement that gives every passenger access to the aisle and allows the seat to be folded down to a bed over 2 meters long).

Free menus and drinks are standard for all passengers. Virgin Atlantic also believes in always presenting the latest entertainment technologies to customers. Each passenger has their own small screen on which they can watch films, for example. The frequent flyer program is divided into Virgin Atlantic Red, Silver and Gold membership. Miles can be earned from the airline itself and its numerous partners such as hotels, rental car companies and Internet portals. In addition to classic rewards such as flight tickets or ticket upgrades, there are also unusual offers.

Virgin Atlantic has always been known for provocative commercials and snappy slogans. The British-American airline is currently flying under the motto “to embrace the human spirit and let it fly”.
