About United Airlines
United Airlines is an American airline and one of the largest airlines in the world. United Airlines is the oldest commercial airline in the United States.
The history of United Airlines goes back to Varney Air Lines and Varney Speed Lines, founded in 1926 and 1934 by Walter T. Varney. In the 1980s, United Airlines was the first airline to fly to all 50 states. A decade later, in 1997, she emerged as a founding member of the Star Alliance, an association of global airlines. The fleet consists of Boeing and Airbuses.
The frequent flyer program of United Airlines, MileagePlus®, offers the possibility of miles for the ticket purchase or numerous partners to collect, then exchange for these benefits against. These can be redeemed not only for tickets, but also for sightseeing flights and hotel accommodation. The United Airlines logo is tulip-shaped and consists of red and blue stripes.
In order to protect the climate, United Airlines is working on the use of sustainable fuels and the continuous improvement of recycling on board. The cabin staff separately collects aluminum, paper and plastic during the flight, which is then processed in recycling plants for reprocessing.

United Airlines distinguishes four different classes of transport on its flights (depending on the route and type of aircraft). United Economy offers exclusive standard services for a pleasant flight. United Economy Plus provides additional legroom. United Business is the right choice for business travelers. In contrast, discerning customers on flights within the United States and Canada are spoiled in United First.
Free meals and drinks as well as a video screen for every passenger in every on-board class are standard on international flights.
The airline offers a global route network. The main hub is Chicago. Other hubs are Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington. There is a dense domestic network that focuses particularly on the Midwest and Western United States. Important destinations are Phoenix, Atlanta and Detroit. It also flies to popular vacation destinations in Central America and the Caribbean, including Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and Montego Bay in Jamaica. European cities such as Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam or Moscow are also important destinations.
The airline has a codeshare agreement with the following airlines.

If you have bought a paper ticket, unfortunately United Airlines web check-in is not possible.
What about luggage?
You can simply drop off your luggage at the United Airlines counter at the airport. Appropriate ATMs are also available at many airports. If you are traveling within the United States, you should have checked in your luggage at least 30 minutes before departure. If you fly to another country, you have to count on 60 minutes.
Forgot or lost your boarding pass?
If you have forgotten or lost your boarding pass, you can print it out again free of charge at the airport at the check-in machine.
Is mobile check-in possible?

Click the button below to check in online.
To check in at the airport, check the closing times of the check-in counter on the United Airlines website. If you are not at the airport in time, you will not be able to board the plane and you will lose all your rights on the purchased flight ticket.
United Airlines Baggage Allowance
United Airlines’ hand luggage regulations are considered to be extremely transparent. As a passenger in Economy Class, First Class and Business Class you can always take a piece of luggage measuring 22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm. The airline does not disclose information on weight, but experience has shown that it is very accommodating in this regard. A personal item, such as a laptop, may also be taken directly into the machine and used during the flight. The personal item may be a maximum of 22 cm x 25 cm x 43 cm. Travelers with small children can also take a diaper bag into the passenger compartment
Service charges may apply to flights within North America. However, these charges only apply to Economy Class and are approximately $ 25 – $ 30 for the first bag and $ 35 for the second bag. For all other flights, One piece of luggage in Economy Class is usually free of charge. In Business Class, the baggage allowance includes two pieces of luggage, regardless of the connection. The permitted weight in Economy Class is 23 kg per piece of luggage, all other classes 32 kg. The sum of the dimensions of a piece of luggage may not exceed 158 cm.
Anyone wanting to take on board or check in sports equipment alongside their normal baggage must pay the corresponding excess baggage fees on all connections, provided that these travel items do not fit in the baggage allowance and are less than the baggage allowance. Smaller musical instruments, such as violins or guitars, can be taken into the passenger compartment within the allowable hand luggage allowance, provided that there is sufficient storage space and that they can be stowed under the front seat or in the luggage compartments.

United Airlines Seat Selection
Depending on the tariff, seats can be reserved at the time of booking and then up to 24 hours before departure. After this time, the remaining seats will be available as regular seats during online check-in and can be selected free of charge. The latter is possible with all tariffs, except Economy Basic. Here, the space is automatically assigned before boarding and cannot be selected yourself at no extra charge.
United Airlines Knee Distance
Because of the airlines who want to reduce the cost of flying more passengers, knee distance is very important especially on long haul flights. The front seats and emergency exit seats are the seats with the highest knee distance. It is generally sold for a fee.
MileagePlus Frequent Flyer Program
MileagePlus is the name of the frequent flyer program of the American airline United Airlines, which divides customers by collecting miles into five member levels, which offer various advantages. Miles can also be earned on Star Alliance airlines (such as Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines or Swiss) and when using a rental car (from Hertz and others) as well as by booking rooms with various hotel chains (such as Clarion, Hilton and Holiday Inn).
Mileage Plus status overview
Premier Silver status offers benefits such as extra baggage and high waiting list priority as well as a free upgrade to flights within the United States and is activated as soon as members complete 25,000 flight miles or 30 segments with United Airlines or one of the Star Alliance airlines in one year to have. Premier Gold is the status that is achieved through 50,000 miles flown or 60 segments a year. Among other things, this allows access to the Star Alliance lounges worldwide as well as preferred boarding and more baggage allowance. From 75,000 miles or 90 flight segments within a calendar year, the Premier Platinum status offers further advantages. The 1K status allows members with 120 segments or 100.000 airline miles per year access to reserved seats and offers six upgrade coupons for all flights with United Airlines. Miles earned with MileagePlus can also be transferred to other people for a fee.
United Airlines Food & Beverage
Board catering in economy class
In Economy Class, on-board catering also depends on numerous factors, such as the departure time, flight duration and travel destination. The offer ranges from small snacks in between to multi-course menus. Non-alcoholic drinks as well as coffee, tea and juice are generally available free of charge.
Flights within North America
In North America, catering depends on the flight duration. For flights that take around one to two hours, depending on the departure time, the passenger receives a small snack consisting of muffins or scones or a selection of high-quality snacks. The airline only serves a full menu with several dishes to choose from if it is a flight lasting several hours.
International flights (business class and first class)
On international long-haul flights, Business Class and First Class passengers receive carefully compiled menus, which are preferably prepared with regional ingredients. The heated nuts that are served at the start of every trip are typical for United Airlines. Afterwards, First Class passengers benefit from a six-course menu consisting of various starters, a main course, cheese and a selection of several desserts. In business class, the airline serves five-course meals. United Airlines also offers regional specialties from the respective countries when traveling to destinations in Asia, Israel, Japan, India and New Zealand.
What special meals are offered?
United Airlines offers special meals for special nutritional needs. You can choose from vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals as well as dishes that meet the Muslim, Jewish, Hindu and Jain dietary requirements. However, not all special meals are available on all flights. Hindu-vegetarian and Jain meals, for example, can only be booked on flights to and from India. The airline also offers meals especially for children between the ages of two and twelve. However, orders for special meals must always be received by the airline up to 24 hours before departure.
