Tunisair was founded in Tunis in 1948, the capital of Tunisia. Airline is 74% state owned, 20% private property. The remaining 6% co-founder is Air France. Tunisia Airlines offers its passengers 2 different flight classes.

Economy Class

Sufficient leg length, wide seats, full dining menu from asortic kitchens, shopping during flight and 32kg of free baggage allowance.

Business class

Special check-in desks and an extra 30kg of baggage allowance. Access to the “Espace Privilège” waiting room with a special invitation. Baggage priority after the landing of your flight.

The airline runs seasonal flights to the cities of Budapest, Liege and Oostende.

Important Milestones

For the first time since its establishment, Tunis Air has reached a capacity of 50 million passengers in 1998.

After that; 15 aircraft purchase agreements were signed with Boeing and Airbus.

Airlines in Tunisia established its subsidiary company “Tunisie Catering” in 2001.

“Tunisia Flight Training Center – (ATCT)” was established in 2003 to train its technical team and aircraft technicians.

It was an important turning point for the airline in 2003 when the company went to restructuring and to adopt a newer and more appropriate corporate strategy.

Tunisia Airlines, which introduced the e-ticket system for certain flights in March 2005, implemented this on all its flights.

Airport Check-in

Flight passengers of the Business Class are allowed to carry two pieces of hand luggage and an accessory on board. Passengers in Economy Class are allowed to carry a piece of hand luggage and an accessory. The maximum height of the baggage must not exceed 115 cm. In business class, a total of 10 kg and in economy class 8 kg is permitted. The luggage should be easy to stow away.

Checked baggage

Other luggage

Special baggage can be carried within the baggage allowance provided it does not exceed its limits. Otherwise, charges must be paid for overnight. An additional piece of luggage costs between 35 and 70 euros depending on the flight zone. An “”overweight”” luggage up to 32 kg between 23 and 57 Euro. For golf equipment weighing up to 20 kg there is an exception: it can be transported free of charge as an additional luggage.

Tunis Air Seat Selection

While seat reservations are free for scheduled flights, there is a fee of 10 euros per person for charter flights.
