Scoot is a low cost long haul airline from Singapore. The airline is owned by Singapore Airlines and has been operating since 1 November 2011. On 25 July 2017, Scoot and Tigerair merged under the same name Scoot. The airline’s flight code is TR.
Currently Scoot serves flight routes to 60 destinations in 17 countries. The airline has its headquarters at Terminal 3 of Changi Airport. The predominance of yellow is the color identity for Scoot, where yellow – white paint is used on the fuselage. As for the flight attendant uniform, Scoot uses a yellow – black color combination.
Scoot is also affiliated with NokScoot, which is the result of a partnership between Nok Air, an airline from Thailand, and Scoot. NokScoot began operating on 20 May 2015 with Don Mueang International Airport as the connecting airport. In addition, Scoot has also joined the Value Alliance, the world’s largest low-cost airline alliance. Other airlines that have joined the Value Alliance are Cebu Pacific, Jeju Air, NokScoot and Vanilla Air.

Scoot Classes of Service
The booking classes at Scoot are simple and relatively self-explanatory:
- Fly: This really only includes space and hand luggage.
- FlyBag: 20 kilograms of luggage are added to the space and hand luggage.
- FlyBagEat: The name suggests – a warm meal with a drink is included.
- Scootplus: In Scoot’s Business Class, you get comfortable, adjustable leather seats, a lot of legroom, 30 kilos of free baggage and an additional piece of hand luggage, preferred boarding, meals, electricity and access to ScooTV, which allows you to stream films and series on your own devices.
Scoot is growing rapidly by expanding its air network. It therefore serves the Gold Coast (Australia), Tianjin, Qingdao and Shenyang (China) and Taipei (Taiwan).
The airline does not have domestic flights. Countries that have flown abroad; Australia, China, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

In addition to the classic check-in at the counter, the Singaporean airline offers its passengers from Berlin, Singapore, Perth, Gold Coast, Sydney, India, Seoul and Japan airports to check-in online or via mobile. This is possible between 72 and an hour before departure and only for connections without a stopover.

At Changi Airport in Singapore and Melbourne, Australia, Scoot passengers also have self-service kiosks for check-in. In Singapore this is possible between 18 hours and 70 minutes before departure, in Melbourne passengers have between three hours and 65 minutes before departure.
Scoot Baggage Allowance
Passengers of all classes except Scootplus can take two pieces of hand luggage with a maximum total weight of 10 kg into the passenger compartment. Small hand or laptop bags are already included. The hand luggage size per bag is limited to 54 x 38 x 23 cm. Scootplus can take two handbags or including laptop bags with maximum weight of 15 kg for two bags.
Scoot is the right airline for you if you want to travel without checked baggage or otherwise limit yourself to a maximum of 20 kg (more is also possible, but will be more expensive).
Scoot applies different standards according to the class:
- Fly class: Baggage is available at an additional charge for sizes 20-40 kg.
- FlyBag and FlyBagEat: Free of charge for baggage up to 20 kg.
- ScootPlus: There is no charge for baggage up to 30 kg.
It is also possible to take special baggage with you. Sports equipment can be checked in as normal baggage and will be charged as such. The weight per piece of luggage must not exceed 32 kg.
According to Scoot, musical instruments should be packed securely and should not exceed the dimensions 140 x 40 x 45 cm. Here too, one item of luggage (in this case a musical instrument) may weigh a maximum of 32 kg.

Scoot Seat Selection
The airline Scoot distributes the seats during the booking process. Passengers who want a different standard seat, a seat in the front row or a comfort seat can change this online for a surcharge. The costs vary depending on the departure airport, flight route and seat variant between around 14 and 85 euros for flights from international and around 4 and 18 euros for short flights within Asia. Scoot Knee Distance
Because of the airlines who want to reduce the cost of flying more passengers, knee distance is very important especially on long haul flights. The front seats and emergency exit seats are the seats with the highest knee distance. It is generally sold for a fee.
KrisFlyer Frequent Flyer Program
Scoot has a regular flight program called KrisFlyer, which also applies to all Singapore Airlines Group flights. When you join KrisFlyer, you can earn miles by flying with more than 30 airlines partnering with Scoot, such as Singapore Airlines and SilkAir, and use it with more than 200 partners in retail, hotels and travel agencies. The miles you have collected can be exchanged for flight tickets or facility upgrade coupons at Scoot and partner airlines.
Scoot Food & Beverage
With Scoot, economy passengers have to pay for on-board catering in addition to the ticket price. So-called premium meals should be ordered at least 72 hours before departure. These offerings include Singapore-style chicken and rice, an Asian beef goulash, Japanese teriyaki chicken and sweet and sour fish. For the equivalent of around 15 euros, these offers also include a cold drink, water as well as salad and dessert. For children there is a hot dog with salty chips on the menu.
Scoot’s regular on-board menu includes various Asian-flavored chicken dishes and, for vegetarians, pasta or spicy rice among the warm meals. These are all prepared according to Halal rules and cost the equivalent of around eight euros. Various sandwiches and wraps, snacks such as nuts, chips and chocolate bars as well as Asian instant soups are correspondingly cheaper. It is not possible to pre-order special meals at Scoot and it is expressly forbidden to consume food you have brought with you on board. The drinks range from water, soft drinks, juices, coffee and tea (around three euros each) to beer, wine and spirits for around five euros each.
Travelers in the Scoot business can choose from the economy offer without paying any extra charge. The free service in the business also includes a welcome drink and an additional alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink. Like passengers in economy, they have to be prepared to eat from disposable dishes.
If you like Asian cuisine, Scoot serves a varied range of dishes at moderate prices. You can save money by pre-ordering catering. The situation is problematic for people who depend on special meals, as Scoot does not provide them.
Scoot Inflight Entertainment
