About Oman Air
Oman Air is the national carrier of Oman. The airline established in 1993 uses Muscat International Airport and Salalah International Airport as its main base. Domestic and international scheduled flights as well as regional air taxi and charter flights are organized. Oman Air is a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization.
Its maiden flight, from Muscat to Salalah, takes place in March aboard a Boeing 737-300. The first international flight takes place in July, with the flight of a Boeing 737 to Dubai. During the years that followed, the range of destinations offered to customers gradually expanded (India, Pakistan, Kenya, Egypt, etc.). In 1998, Oman Air joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Following the investment of the State from 2007, new cities are served and long-haul flights are emerging with services, among others, to Bangkok and London. In 2009, Oman Air started its first flights to the French capital.
Although it has existed since 1993, it is moving in a modern line. The reason for this is that it is one step ahead of some young airlines in terms of modernity. Since 2010, it is one of the first airline companies in the world to offer airline phone calls, SMS and surfing opportunities on the internet. It also offers additional comfort with its own lounges at the airports.
It has led to the existence of various aircraft models in its fleet, which is a state airline. Boeing, Airbus and Embraer, for example, fly to almost 35 destinations in Africa, Asia and Europe. Frequent flyers should use the Sindbad Frequent Flyer System and can thus receive attractive rewards by collecting airline miles.
