The Kuwait Airways company was founded in March 1954 by two Kuwaiti businessmen. It began to operate in the following days, under the name of Kuwait National Airways. It did not take its definitive name of Kuwait Airways until 1958. It enriched its fleet of Boeing 707 and B747-200 in the following years and then set up links to New York and Manila in particular, in 1978.

The Gulf War is a critical period for Kuwait Airways, which sees the destruction of a large part of its aircraft. It is still going up the slope and in the early 2000s, signed an agreement with Saber Airlines Solutions, a company specializing in the use of new technologies in tourism. The company presented a draft decree to the government to privatize the company which was approved in 2008. In 2013, Kuwait Airways was declared as a private company.It continues to grow, modernizes its fleet, sets up new routes and eliminates the less profitable in the years that follow. In 2019, it received 5 stars at the APEX Awards, a sign of the general satisfaction of Kuwait Airways passengers. The company is also part of the Arab Air Carriers Organization, an airline alliance.

The frequent flyer program is known as the Oasis Club. The Kuwait Airways lounge in Kuwait City is called Dasman Lounge.

There are different on-board classes depending on the flight length. There is usually a division into economy, oasis and first class. Pure luxury awaits passengers in First Class. There is a large selection of menus available. Each passenger has his own monitor, on which he e.g. Can watch movies. The Oasis and Economy Class are currently being upgraded with these screens.

Carry-on baggage

Each flight passenger may carry a hand luggage with a maximum weight of seven kilograms and the maximum dimensions of 23 x 36 x 56 centimeters. In addition, a personal item such as a jacket, a camera, books, or an umbrella can be carried along. In the case of air travel with children, a folded buggy and baby food can also be taken on board for the flight.

Checked baggage

Economy and Business class passengers can carry baggage not exceeding a maximum of 158 cm in size. For Royal / First class passengers, the maximum size is 300cm. For babies, you have the right of baggage not exceeding 10kg and 115cm in size. Depending on your flight class, the right to baggage changes.

The Oasis Club , Kuwait Airways’ frequent flyer program, is an option for travelers traveling often with the Kuwait airline. Other airlines do not participate. There are partnerships with hotel chains, car rentals, the Ahli United Bank, Gulf insurance&reinsurance and various telephone companies. Program members are credited with 100% of the flown miles in Economy Class and at least 500 miles on short flights. In Business and First Class the double or triple mile count is booked.

Enjoy with Oasis Club benefits

The Silver Membership entitles you to a 50% bonus, Gold Members receive a 100% bonus. Up to eight family members can earn miles on a shared account. Children over 2 years receive 50% of the flown miles. Oasis Club miles remain valid for three years. If the mile account is well filled, bonus flights can be booked with Kuwait Airways and upgrades. Upgrades are available from 10,000 miles, round trips in Economy Class from 15,000 miles. Easy flights cost half. The most attractive option is to pay bonus flights with a combination of cash and miles.

Kuwait Airways Inflight Entertainment

On board, the company offers a variety of entertainment such as video, audio and a selection of DVDs in Business class. It provides everything you need to enjoy your program, such as a blanket or a helmet. The company also has a wide selection of meals adapted to individual diets and allergies as well as to children.
