The four steps of KLM’s online check-in
For this you need the ticket number or the booking code. You can also log in with your KLM or Flying Blue account.
- Data selection
Now it’s time to choose the flights you want to check in for. Fellow travelers can also be checked in during this step.
- Additional options
Now a seat can be selected. If you want an extra comfortable seat in economy class, you can now book it. There are three types of seats:
- Economy Comfort in an extra zone in the front part of the Economy Class
- Seating with more leg room
- Preferred seats
The prices are between ten and 160 euros depending on the flight and the type of seat. You can also book an à la carte menu here (only for intercontinental flights from Amsterdam) and specify additional baggage. As a service for solo travelers, you can use Meet & Seat to find out who is still on board the machine. Simply share the Facebook, Google+ or LinkedIn profile data.
- Boarding pass
In the last step, the boarding pass is created. Here you have the choice between printing on paper or an electronic boarding pass that is saved on your smartphone.
Check-in start time
Online check-in can be done a maximum of 30 hours in advance. If it is a flight to the USA, it is 24 hours. If you are going to Mumbai, it is only eight hours. The minimum time to check in online is one hour; It takes an hour and a half on flights to Mumbai, Sudan, Kenya and Ethiopia. Luggage can be dropped off directly at the airport. Luggage counters have been set up for this purpose. You should have left your luggage at least 40 minutes before departure for flights within Europe. If it continues, it is 60 to 120 minutes (depending on the destination).
Click the button below to check in online.
To check in at the airport, check the closing times of the check-in counter on the KLM website. If you are not at the airport in time, you will not be able to board the plane and you will lose all your rights on the purchased flight ticket.
