JetBlue About JetBlue

Initially founded in 1999 by David Neeleman under the name of “New Air”, JetBlue Airways has become in a few years one of the best low cost airlines in North America. A year after its creation, the air carrier made its first flights to Buffalo and Fort Lauderdale, departing from John F. Kennedy International Airport. Seeking to distinguish itself in the aeronautics market, JetBlue Airways is developing its on-board services, becoming one of the first companies to be equipped with personal screens and satellite radio.Following the attack of September 11, 2001, JetBlue Airways also distinguished itself as one of the rare American carriers to make a profit in the midst of the air transport turmoil.

With a fleet of 253 aircraft with an average age of 11 years, the American airline JetBlue Airways serves, to date, more than 70 destinations across the United States, Central America and America.

The relatively high quality service from Jetblue is remarkable compared to other low-cost airlines. Passengers can look forward to a free in-flight video system that allows them to enjoy the usual television program at every seat. In contrast to the majority of other US airlines, Jetblue also transports the first piece of luggage free of charge. Frequent flyers at Jetblue can also take advantage of the TrueBlue bonus program when they earn their miles.

JetBlue Seat Selection

JetBlue Knee Distance

Because of the airlines who want to reduce the cost of flying more passengers, knee distance is very important especially on long haul flights. The front seats and emergency exit seats are the seats with the highest knee distance. It is generally sold for a fee.

TrueBlue Frequent Flyer Program

The American airline JetBlue allows with its frequent flyer program TrueBlue to collect points in order to exchange them for award flights. Members can earn points by purchasing a flight ticket through JetBlue, Hawaiian or Singapore Airlines, booking a stay in one of the partner hotels (such as Hilton or Marriott) and using a rental car (Avis and Budget Car). In addition, the use of the JetBlue credit card enables the points to be increased daily.

The points awarded at TrueBlue

Unlike most frequent flyer programs, no flight miles are counted and no membership cards are issued. The amount of the points collected depends on the ticket costs, whereby the booking of flights is sufficient to provide the membership number in order to have the points credited to the TrueBlue member account. JetBlue awards three points for every dollar spent. When paying with a JetBlue credit card, holders receive one point for every $ 1 spent. TrueBlue points earned are valid indefinitely.

JetBlue Food & Beverage

As usual with US airlines, jetBlue Airways also offers non-alcoholic cold and hot drinks and snacks in the economy. These can be chips, nuts, crackers or dried fruit. In addition to cola, tonic and water, you can drink various juices and coffee or tea. Beer and wine can be ordered for an additional charge. For greater hunger, snack boxes and meals can be ordered on board in the economy. The palette ranges from a vegetarian snack box with humus, olives, crackers and roasted beans to steak sandwiches with fruit salad. Breakfast options and child-friendly dishes are available. Eat partly from porcelain, partly from plastic bowls. A kale salad is on offer for vegans.

On long flights, jetBlue Airways offers the Mint booking class, which roughly corresponds to business. Here all drinks and meals are included in the ticket price. The collaboration with the renowned New York restaurant Saxon & Parole is intended to guarantee business / mint passengers enjoyment with monthly changing menus. In April 2017, for example, an avocado dip with artichokes was on the menu next to a glass of sparkling wine. Lobster, pasta, selected salads or chicken breasts followed as the main dishes, from which à la carte is selected. There was homemade ice cream for dessert. Wine recommendations are made with the dishes. International beers and spirits are also available. Only in Business / Mint is it possible to order kosher, gluten-free, vegan or low-calorie food before departure.

Food prices at jetBlue Airways are at US level. If you want to be provided with full board catering on long-haul flights, you should consider choosing the Mint booking class.

JetBlue Inflight Entertainment

On board JetBlue Airways aircraft , passengers have access to several television channels. Drinks and food are also available on board. To benefit from more space, travelers can choose the Even more Space option when booking.
