Hawaiian Airlines About Hawaiian Airlines

The Hawaiian airline was first founded in 1929 under the name Inter-Island Airways. Gradually, traffic developed and air mail was established. In 1941, the airline changed its name to Hawaiian Airlines. During WWII, the military took control of Hawaiian airspace and used some of the company’s planes, out of the 20 or so in the fleet. In the 1960s, the increase in inter-island air traffic led to an increase in the activity of the airline.

Condé Nast Traveler elected Hawaiian Airlines one of the safest airlines in the world in 1990. Backed by this award, the company has continued to modernize its fleet, notably acquiring Boeing 717-200s in 2001 and Boeing 767s in 2002. The company’s international development is carried out with the establishment of international links to destinations in the Pacific region. San Diego was thus served in 2003, Sydney in 2004, Seoul in 2011 and Beijing in 2014. The cessation of activities of the Hawaiian competitor Aloha Airlines in 2008 caused a sharp increase in air traffic for Hawaiian Airlines. It therefore increased the number of weekly inter-island rotations by 110. The largest Hawaiian airline, Hawaiian Airlines prided itself on transporting nearly 8.3 million passengers in 2009.

The company’s homepage is divided into three categories: “Explore”, “Book Travel” and “Manage”. This gives you the opportunity not only to book a flight or a travel package, but also to find out more about Hawaii and to manage the bookings made. The booking process takes into account the distinction between three cabin classes: Main Cabin, Extra Comfort and First Class. The main distinguishing features are the level of seating comfort as well as the range of meals and entertainment. Hawaiian Airlines passengers can benefit from the frequent flyer program HawaiianMiles.
