About Frontier Flying Service
The US airline Frontier Flying Service was founded in 1950. The main base is Fairbanks Airport. Hubs are located in Anchorage, Barrow, Bethel, and Kotzebue. Fairbanks is given as the registered office.
In 1974 John Hajdukovich acquired Frontier Flying Service. In 2005 it merged with Cape Smythe Air Services. In 2008, the merger with the regional airline Hageland Aviation Services, which is based in Anchorage, followed. Both Frontier Flying Service and Hageland Aviation Services and Frontier Alaska belong to the Era Alaska. Frontier Flying Service has also had a codeshare partner with Seattle Alaska Airlines since 2008. The Frontier Flying Service fleet in 2011 consisted of three Raytheon Beech BE-1900-C (19 seats), two Piper PA-31-350 (eight seats) and two Shorts SD3-30 (36 seats).
In 2014, Era Alaska is the largest provider of passenger flights in the state of Alaska. However, the Fairbanks-based airline operates not only passenger flights, but also charter and mail flights.

Frontier Flying Service Classes of Service
In view of the number of seats between 8 and 36, the airline only offers one cabin class. Frontier Flying Service handles both passenger acceptance and check-in at short notice: Passenger acceptance can take place up to 50 minutes and check-in up to 20 minutes before the scheduled departure. However, you have to do without an on-board service, which you may be used to from major airlines, during a flight with this airline.
A total of 46 destinations are served in Alaska. The most important are Bethel Airport, Ralph Wien Memorial Airport, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and Wiley Post-Will Rogers Memorial Airport. Frontier Flying Services also lists these four airports as secondary hubs.
Frontier Flying Service Check-in
Online and mobile check-in is not possible with the airline. It is currently not known whether Frontier Flying Services is expanding the check-in options. For more information, see the airline’s website.
To check in at the airport, check the closing times of the check-in counter on the Frontier Flying Service website. If you are not at the airport in time, you will not be able to board the plane and you will lose all your rights on the purchased flight ticket.
Frontier Flying Service Baggage Allowance
Each passenger is allowed to take one piece of hand luggage (maximum size: 35.56 x 25.4 x 45.72 centimeters, maximum weight: nine kilograms) and one personal item (e.g. coat or handbag) on board. Lighters, explosive and flammable substances, household appliances, gas containers, weapons and other dangerous objects are prohibited in luggage.
Travelers can check in two pieces of luggage weighing up to 22 kilograms each free of charge. The maximum external dimensions of a piece of luggage may not be longer than 157 centimeters. Fees will be charged for all additional pieces of baggage, as well as those that exceed the free baggage allowance.
If sports equipment such as skis and golf bags are checked in as part of the baggage allowance, this is free of charge. They must be packed in a suitable container. For large sports equipment, such as surfboards, bicycles and diving equipment, an additional fee is due in any case.
Tripuck does not guarantee the correctness and timeliness of the information. Contact your agency or airline for actual luggage information.
Frontier Flying Service Seat Selection
To make a comfortable trip with Frontier Flying Service, you must choose the right seat. In general, if you want to travel in a good seat, you should choose your seat in advance and disregard some extra fees if necessary.
Frontier Flying Service Knee Distance
Because of the airlines who want to reduce the cost of flying more passengers, knee distance is very important especially on long haul flights. The front seats and emergency exit seats are the seats with the highest knee distance. It is generally sold for a fee.
