It was established in 2008 as a low-cost airline by Emirates Airlines chairman Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The airline company Fly Dubai specializes in low cost flights and is a state carrier of the Emirate Dubai. The hub of the airline is located at Dubai International Airport. In economy class, passengers are allowed to carry seven kilograms of luggage in one bag. A laptop or handbag may be carried along. In business class, two hand luggage pieces with a maximum of 15 kilograms of luggage can be used. A handbag must never be larger than 56 x 45 x 25 centimeters.
In economy class, luggage has to be booked additionally, in the business class each passenger can give a total of 40 kilograms of luggage in up to 3 bags distributed. A piece of luggage must never be larger than 75 x 55 x 35 centimeters and not more than 32 kilograms.
