About Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways is a young, customer-focused airline company in the United Arab Emirates. “Etihad” is the Arabic word for “union”. It is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, like Emirates. It was established in 2003 and is the second largest airline company in the BAE after Emirates.
It made an inaugural flight to Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, on November 5, 2003, and its first commercial flight to Beirut was on November 12, 2003. In the months that followed, Etihad Airways experienced tremendous growth and opened approximately one new destination per month. In 2004, Etihad Airways launched the first direct flight from the United Arab Emirates to Geneva. The following year, it also served Brussels and Toronto. In 2007, the International Air Transport Association indicates that Etihad Airways is among the top ten companies in the world in terms of growth since its creation in 2003. To further boost its activity, Etihad signed an agreement with the Air France-KLM group to share codes in 2012 and with Avianca in 2016. In 2019, it announced its wish to cancel the order for 64 Airbus aircraft and Boeing.
As of today, the fleet consisted of 112 flights with an average age of 5.7 years old. Aircraft made by Airbus and Boeing are used, with the number of Boeing aircraft predominating.
Etihad wants to cultivate the typical Arabian hospitality in its dealings with its customers, i.e., be cultivated, friendly, warm-hearted and generous. In the past, the airline was awarded the title “World’s Leading Airline” at the World Travel Awards five times in a row. The frequent flyer program is called Etihad Guest.
The center is Khalifa city near Abu Dhabi International Airport. The airline is the founding member of the Etihad Airways Partner global alliance. In 2016, it carried 18.5 million passengers with an occupancy rate of up to 80%. It is one of the few airlines that have received 5 stars from Skytrax in 2016.

Etihad Guest Frequent Flyer Program
Many airlines offer a club membership, which is entitled to redeem all flight miles that have already been flown at the provider into additional privileges or discounts. This includes the airline Etihad, whose frequent flyer program Etihad Guest has numerous members. Through close co-operation with other airlines within the Alliance Etihad Airways partners, such as the Air Serbia, one can not only collect flights of Etihad miles.
A family membership is also possible without problems
If you would like to become a member of Etihad Guest, you can register as a family as well as individually. The advantage of a family membership is that you do not have to (but can) freeze together to collect miles. Each member of the family will be treated equally with Etihad Guest as a simple member. Both types of membership provide three categories of status: silver, gold and platinum. These, however, presuppose certain conditions which must be fulfilled before they are recognized in the respective level. These requirements refer to a minimum number of miles to be collected.
The mile earning information table is below .
