About Corsair International
Corsair International is a French airline. Created in 1981 by the Rossi family, the Corsair airline operates under the name of Corse Air International. This small Corsican company with modest means flights mainly on-demand flights or flights in partnership with small tour operators. In 1990, it was bought by the tour operator Nouvelles Frontières, which renamed it “Corsair”.
In 1991, new destinations were served: Reunion, Montreal and Dakar. Developing its network around the Mediterranean, Corsair was bought by the tourism group TUI in 2002. The airline’s distribution was then extended to all French travel agencies, including Nouvelles Frontières. Under the name Corsairfly, which it took in 2007, the company continued its development towards the overseas departments, Morocco or even Canada, and signed a commercial partnership with Air Canada.
Corsairfly obtained IOSA certification in 2008, became Corsair International in 2012 and joined FNAM in 2014. 2016 marks the year of its expansion to Africa with the reinforcement towards Dakar and Abidjan. Cuba is also served in 2017. The airline only operates flights from Paris-Orly airport. In order to be able to fly from Paris Orly with a Corsair International plane, the company is cooperating with TGV Air: The airport can be reached from a total of 18 cities in France with the high-speed train TGV. If necessary, the ticket combination that takes into account the train journey, transfer and flight can be booked online. Corsair has been serving Miami since June 2019. The airline has been 53% controlled by the German group Intro Aviation since 2019.
Corsair International strives to bring both the aircraft and the service up to date. For example, e-services are offered, from online booking to web check-in. Since the airline offers groups of ten or more people special discounts, the applicable group price must be inquired in advance of the final booking using the online form.
