Comair Limited is an airline from South Africa, member of the Oneworld alliance. It is based at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and has a fleet exclusively made up of Boeing 737s. It was created in December 1943 under the name Commercial Air Services. The company really began its activities in 1946, with charter flights. The first regular flights began in 1948, with the opening of the Johannesburg-Durban route.

In October 1996, the status of Comair Limited changed considerably. It becomes a franchise of British Airways and therefore adopts its logo.In 2001, the company launched its low-cost subsidiary, Kulala. To this end, in 2011 it ordered 8 Boeing 737-800NGs. In 2015, Comair achieved very good results: it operates around 800 flights per week and carries more than 5 million passengers throughout the year. The company signed a codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways in 2016.On May 5, 2020, the airline began to recover, because it suffered serious losses in savings linked to Covid-19.

Comair Classes of Service

On board Comair Limited aircraft , passengers can choose between two types of class. The “traveler” class corresponds to the Economy class and the “club” class to the Business class. In club class, passengers have seats in rows of two, compared to three in traveler class. They can take more baggage with them and the flight crew serves them a meal during the flight.
