About China Airlines
China Airlines, founded in 1959, is based in Taipei, Taiwan, its home airport is in Taiwan-Taoyuan. The former state-owned company has been a joint-stock company since 1993. In 2000, passenger charter flights to Delhi were opened, and passenger routes to Penang, Vancouver and Sydney, as well as freight routes to Frankfurt, were opened. In 2003, China Airlines carried out a charter flight to mainland China for the New Year. Five years later, further charter flights were introduced to the People’s Republic.
In 2014, the airline, in partnership with a Singaporean holding company, launched the low-cost carrier Tigerair Taiwan. The same year, it sets the milestones in its “NexGen” plan to refresh the image of the company: the fleet is renewed, the staff uniforms, changed, and the lounges at Taipei-Taoyuan airport are renovated.
As of the end of May 2020, the passenger aircraft fleet consisted of 88 Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Together with the well-known Air France or Aeroflot and 17 other companies, China Airlines is a member of the SkyTeam alliance. The airline joined it in 2011. The frequent flyer program is called Dynasty Flyer. In addition to the name lettering, the China Airlines logo includes a pink plum blossom.

China Airlines Baggage Allowance
A piece of hand luggage may never be larger than 56 x 36 x 23 centimeters and never heavier than seven kilograms. Business Class passengers may carry one piece of hand luggage, but also a garment bag (max. 20 centimeters wide) and Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may only carry one piece of hand luggage. In addition, each passenger may carry a personal item (e.g. notebook, camera, umbrella, handbag).
On all flights to Asia and Australia, Business Class passengers can check in 40 kg, Premium Economy Class passengers 35 kg and Economy Class passengers 30 kg. In any case, small children may only check in a piece of luggage that is no larger than 115 centimeters and no heavier than ten kilograms. It is also permitted to check in a collapsible stroller if a small child is traveling.

China Airlines Seat Selection
China Airlines offers seat reservation when booking. After purchasing the ticket, passengers can reserve a desired seat online from 90 days to 24 hours before departure. This is still possible after check-in. This service does not apply to passengers who are not members of the airline’s frequent flyer program or who hold a Dynasty Card or who hold a ticket with booking code N, L, X, G or S. At the counter and at the airport ticket machines, however, all customers have the option of choosing a seat, regardless of status and booking class.

Special menus are available in all classes. The airline offers a total of 22 special meals that meet various nutritional requirements such as allergies, religious regulations or health restrictions. Order special menus up to 24 hours before departure. Those traveling with children can also pre-order special menus for infants up to ten months or toddlers from eleven to 24 months before departure. For children between the ages of two and twelve, China Airlines also offers a special children’s menu, which you must pre-order.
