About Cape Air
Founded in October 1989 by Dan Wolf, Cape Air made its first flight between Boston and Provincetown on October 16. A short time later, the route network expanded to include southern New England, followed by destinations in Florida in 1993 and the Caribbean in 1998. Cape Air received the Environmental Excellence Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in May 2002 for its involvement in the protection and preservation of the environment. The year 2004 was marked by the first flights to Micronesia to Guam, Rota and Saipan thanks to the 3 ATR 42s recently acquired.
Cape Air then signed a codeshare with JetBlue in 2007 and with American Airlines in 2010, the latter being renewed in February 2013. In December 2013, and for the second year in a row, Cape Air was proud of the transport of 10,000 passengers to Marion airport, a success which notably enabled it to become the largest independent regional company in the United States. It then connects San Juan to Culebra and San Juan to Virgin Gorda. The American company was rewarded in November 2014 for the quality of its services by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler, who rank it in the “Top 10 of the best American airlines”. To date, Cape Air serves 36 destinations with a fleet of 94 aircraft.
The philosophy of Cape Air guarantees customers excellent service, fast transfers and cheap flights. To this end, the company has ticket and baggage agreements with most of the major airlines. Cape Air does not have a frequent flyer program, but tourists can save on group bookings and special offers.

Cape Air Classes of Service
There are only 9 seats on board the Cessna 402, without class distribution. As most of the flights are relatively short, no entertainment or meals are provided. During the flight, there is not even any on-board personnel except the pilot. Travelers can pass the time, however, by reading Bird’s Eye View , the in-flight magazine. The space between the seats can be tight and uncomfortable for tall travelers.
The US regional airline Cape Air offers scheduled flights within the USA and to Micronesia. The 36 destinations include cities in Florida, Indiana, New England, New York, and the US Virgin Islands. Various airports are served in partnership with Continental Airlines and the Cape Air subsidiary Nantucket Airlines. In the high season, Cape Air operates up to 850 flights a day, making it one of the largest independent regional airlines in the USA.
The airline has a codeshare agreement with the following airlines.
|JetBlue||American Airlines||United Airlines|

The hand luggage allowed depends on the type of aircraft. In addition, a personal item may be carried in these types of aircraft, which may not be larger than 91 centimeters (sum of the three external dimensions). In an ATR42, however, only one personal item, such as a camera or a handbag, may be carried in addition to hand luggage.
The free baggage allowance for checked baggage also differs depending on the type of aircraft. In a Cessna 402 and a Britten Norman Islander, each passenger is allowed to check in one item of luggage that is no heavier than 22 kilograms and no larger than 157 centimeters (sum of the three external dimensions). In an ATR42, on the other hand, two such items of baggage must be checked in for free.
For items of luggage that are larger than a piece of hand luggage but cannot be transported in the hold, there is the option of transporting them to a separate seat, depending on the type of aircraft. However, this must be agreed with the airline prior to departure.
