About Blue Air
Blue Air (SC Blue Air – Airline Management Solutions SRL) is the first Romanian airline to be founded with private capital. The company is a low cost airline based in Bucharest. It was launched at the end of 2004 out of the desire to create a safe and comfortable airline for Romania in competition with the existing offers. The fact that Blue Air has taken the right path over the years shows that other Romanian airlines have tried and are trying to copy the “smart flying” concept. These include, for example, experienced pilots, a modern fleet that is regularly maintained, varied and exclusive routes, and well-trained staff at all airports that are controlled by Blue Air.
The fleet expanded in December 2007 with a Boeing 737-400, then a Boeing 737-300 in May 2008. The increase in the fleet enabled Blue to serve an ever-increasing number of European destinations. In 2008, the company transported more than 2 million passengers. It therefore occupies an increasingly essential place within the Romanian aviation. A Boeing 737-800 NG joined the Blue Air fleet in July 2008. The Blue Air fleet consists of Boeing aircraft and was 20 aircraft in May 2020.
In addition to the boarding pass, Blue Air passengers can book the additional Business Lounge option for Bucharest Otopeni Airport. By presenting the personalized invitation, Blue Air customers can make themselves comfortable with drinks in the lounge. There is also a VIP service for the same airport; if you book it, you will be picked up and taken from the plane with an extra bus. With the VIP service of Blue Air it is also faster through passport control and you are accompanied to the lounge.
