About Bangkok Airways
When choosing the best airlines in the world that Skytrax operates every year, Bangkok Airways once again made it to the best regional airline in Asia. That’s why Bangkok Airways is part of the policy of good service and satisfied passengers. The home base of the Thai airline is Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.
The airline’s history began with an aviation taxi company, at that time under the name Sahakol Air. The first charter and scheduled flights began in 1986, while Bangkok Airways was the first private regional airline in Thailand.
Bangkok Airways’ frequent flyer program is called FlyerBonus. Those who have registered online can collect points on flights with the airline and exchange them later. Passengers receive ten points on national routes in economy class and 25 points on flights to the Maldives. For example, if you collect 50 points, you get a 50 percent discount on a single flight in economy class within the country and can therefore fly cheaper.
Bangkok Airways distinguishes itself from other airlines with its five main features:

Sukhothai Airport, situated among the calm rice paddies, reflects traditional Thai architecture. Finally, Trat Airport highlights the essence of the province’s surrounding natural environment.
The uniqueness of each airport complements Bangkok Airways’ boutique characteristics.

The airline is partnered, for example, with Etihad Airways or Japan Airlines. Passengers can earn miles with other airlines and then use them on flights with Bangkok Air. The airline also works with various hotel chains. If a member books a room in one of the participating hotels, miles will also be credited to the FlyerBonus program. The same applies to customers of certain financial institutions. Participation in the Bangkok Air bonus system can also be worthwhile if you often take a rental car: The airline cooperates in the frequent flyer or mileage collection program with three large, global car rental companies – miles can be earned with every rental.
The Priority and Premier member categories
In its FlyerBonus system, the airline differentiates between the two categories Priority and Premier. After the first flight with this airline, you will be classified in the priority group. Members of this program have the advantage that they can take ten kilograms of excess baggage with them free of charge and can participate in special partner and savings programs. Who has collected 250 flight points is classified in the Premier class. Here, among other things, 20 kilograms of additional luggage can be loaded free of charge.
