About Asiana Airlines
Asiana Airlines became the second airlinethen on the Korean market – today it is one of the 40 largest and most important airlines in the world. Each year, over 15 million passengers are carried on one of the region’s youngest fleets. In 2008 the Skytrax airline received an award for the best cabin crew and the best economy class in the world. Again in 2010, by Skytrax; At the World Airline Awards, the airline was selected as the best airline in the world, and the “5 Star” airline received raiting.
In Korea, international flights were only possible to a limited extent in the 1980s; the regulations of the military government were too strict. But when the state monopoly Korea Air was no longer able to handle the crowds of passengers alone during the 1988 Olympic Games, the establishment of Asiana Airlines was approved. Flight operations started in the same year. With the expansion of the fleet, the route network could be expanded to the other continents.
Air Busan and Air Seoul are subsidiaries of the company.
