Amaszonas is a Bolivian airline which was founded in 1998, but only started operating in 2000. Obtaining its IATA certification in May 2005 allows it to acquire an international dimension. The airline was also introducing e-ticket system to make life easier for people who want to buy a plane ticket with Amaszonas.
The first international link was inaugurated on October 1, 2012, linking La Paz to Cuzco in Peru. Faced with the increase in demand, the number of rotations between the two cities increases from March 19, from 4 to 5 weekly flights. In 2014, one of the last destinations to be set up by Amaszonas was Brazil, just in time for the start of the World Cup.
Since its foundation in 1998, Amaszonas has continued to grow in importance both in Bolivia and in neighboring countries. Its development has been marked by opening up to Brazilian, Paraguayan and Peruvian air networks. To date, it serves some twenty destinations in South America.
The airline’s subsidiary is Amaszonas Uruguay.

Airline passengers fly only in economy class.
Amaszonas makes the Web Check-in service available to passengers who have an electronic ticket. It is only allowed for domestic flights within Bolivian territory and for routes from and / or to La Paz- Rurrenabaque- Sucre – Tarija – Santa Cruz – Uyuni. It is available from 72 hours to 2 hours before the flight departure time. It is important to bear in mind that you have to print 2 copies per flight segment of the Boarding Pass generated by Web Check-in. To check in online you have to enter the Reservation Code and the Surname as it appears on the electronic ticket.

To check in at the airport, check the closing times of the check-in counter on the Amaszonas website. If you are not at the airport in time, you will not be able to board the plane and you will lose all your rights on the purchased flight ticket.
Amaszonas Baggage Allowance
In the cabin, the Amaszonas company allows 1 piece on board that must not exceed 3 kg in weight for Fairchild Metro M23 aircraft and 5 kg for Bombardier CRJ 200 aircraft. Furthermore, the dimensions must not exceed 30 x 20 x 27 cm. Passengers must not carry items as hand luggage that, due to their size or weight, could cause inconvenience to other people on board. They also have to be placed in the aircraft compartments intended for this purpose or under the seat.
On Amaszonas flights, if you travel with checked baggage within Bolivia, you must take into account to present yourself at the counters at least 40 minutes before the flight departure and 1 hour and a half if it is international routes. Luggage that does not exceed 20 kg for adults and 10 kg for minors between 2 and 12 years is authorized. If there is excess weight, a previously established fee per kilo must be paid.
