About All Nippon Airways
The company All Nippon Airways was founded on December 27, 1957 following the merger of two existing companies: the Nippon Helicopter and Airplane and the Far Eastern Airlines. From the 1960s, the company experienced a period of strong growth: it acquired its first jet planes and entered the Tokyo and Osaka stock exchanges. In 1963, All Nippon Airways merged with Fujita Airlines. In 1986, with the end of the monopoly on the operation of international flights, All Nippon Airways began its development outside the domestic market. In March 1986, it established its first international line to the island of Guam. Los Angeles and Washington follow a few months later. In 1999, the company became a member of the Star Alliance, of which a good number of Asian airlines were also members.
The events which disturbed the order of the world at the beginning of the 2000s had an influence on the frequentation of the airline company. But the beginning of the following decade was flourishing: line inaugurations and new connections were legion, which led All Nippon Airways to become, in 2016, the first global company to exceed 100,000 flights in the world. That same year, it was awarded the 5-star award for the fourth consecutive year by Skytrax. The frequent flyer program is the ANA Mileage Club.

All Nippon Airways flights offer its passengers the same classes used by other airlines on international flights. In addition to Economy Class and Premium Economy, passengers can also choose between Business Class and First Class. The individual classes differ, for example, in the design and size of the seats or also in the catering. The most impressive thing is of course the First Class, which has the best service and the most space for passengers.
The Economy class offers 86 cm wide seats, an individual screen with films and music on demand, a PC socket and a USB port. The food served is either Japanese or Western. In Premium Economy, passengers have seats approximately 97 cm wide and a spacious table. The menus offered can be modified for people with specific requirements or for children. In Business Class, each seat has a large table, storage space and an individual screen. Finally, in First Class, passengers have a spacious storage space for their personal effects. Recently, the airline has offered Wi-Fi access on board, paying in Economy class and free in First Class.

Laptop and cell phone users can check in online from 24 hours to 75 minutes before departure. The airline has developed the ANA Passbook app for smartphones. The boarding pass can be printed out, sent to the mobile phone by email or saved as a 2D barcode on the smartphone using the app.

Check-in at the counter usually begins 2 to 3 hours before departure and ends 60 minutes for international flights and 30 minutes for domestic flights. At some airports, self-check-in machines are available. If you provide your passport number, email address and hotel address when booking, you will be automatically checked in and will receive an email with your boarding pass 24 hours before departure.
All Nippon Airways Baggage Allowance
In addition to personal items such as an umbrella, camera or handbag, a piece of hand luggage can be carried. The maximum permissible total weight of hand luggage is 10 kg. The sum of the external dimensions of the piece of luggage must not exceed 115 cm.
On international flights, three pieces of luggage weighing 32 kg each can be carried in First Class, two pieces of luggage weighing 32 kg each in Business Class and two pieces of luggage weighing 23 kg each in (Premium) Economy Class. This also applies to small children with their own seat. The maximum external dimensions of a piece of luggage must not exceed 158 cm. There is an additional cost for excess baggage. If one of the stated baggage limits (weight, size and number) is exceeded, fees of up to 150 euros will be charged.
Sports equipment or musical instruments are transported on the flight as long as they do not exceed the free baggage allowance and a length of 203 cm as checked baggage. Otherwise fees will be charged. It should be checked beforehand whether the airport regulations and the respective aircraft type accept the transport of the planned luggage.

On long-haul flights, passengers are also served breakfast: there is basically a choice between breakfast with rice porridge or with scrambled eggs. Meals are served in economy containers in plastic containers.
In addition to economy catering, passengers receive a pasta dish, soup, as well as alcoholic beverages and dessert from Business Class. Meals are also served in premium economy class in plastic containers.
In Business Class there are menu cards with both Japanese and international dishes. There are starters, soups, main meals and dessert to choose from.
