About Air corsica
The airline Air Corsica was founded in 1989 under the name Compagnie Corse Mediterranée. As the Compagnie Corse Mediterranée, the airline started its flight operations a year later in 1990. In 2010, its name was changed to CCM Airlines, before finally becoming Air Corsica in 2011. Since then its creation, Air Corsica has continued to develop its range of destinations and its partnerships, in particular with the national airline Air France. It is mainly managed by the local authority of Corsica, which owns 60% of the shares and by Air France which is a shareholder up to 12%.
Air Corsica enjoys the status of Corsica’s leading air carrier, providing service to Ajaccio, Calvi, Bastia and Figari airports. It offers its travelers 34 regular lines to the main cities of the continent as well as many seasonal flights to French destinations and to Rome or Porto, among others, thanks to its fleet of 13 Airbus and ATR aircraft. In 2019, it was also the first French company to operate the new Airbus A320neo. Air Corsica offers its passengers the JeGagne1Billet.com frequent flyer program as a bonus program.

Air Corsica Classes of Service

The airline company Air Corsica has its headquarters in Ajaccio, the capital of the Mediterranean island of Corsica. The home airport is Ajaccio Airport – Aéroport d’Ajaccio Napoléon Bonaparte – which is only about 5 kilometers from the city center of Ajaccio. Air Corsica mainly operates routes to mainland France. It connects the island of Corsica with its flights to France via its home airport Ajaccio and the airports Bastia and Calvi and flies to the French cities of Marseille, Lyon, Nice, Nantes and Paris, among others. On some routes of Air Corsica there is a cooperation with the airline Air France, which is the largest airline in France with its home airports Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport and Paris-Orly Airport. Air Corsica also flies to the Italian cities of Florence and Rome. The airline has been able to significantly increase its air traffic volume in recent years and now serves up to 140 flights a day or almost 800 flights a week.
As a low-cost airline, the airline operates seasonal charter flights and scheduled flights and also flies flight routes for Air France.

Air corsica Check-in
Once your Air Corsica plane ticket has been booked, you can check in online from 30 hours and up to 30 minutes before your flight departs. Go to the company’s website and fill in your name and the number of your reservation or that of your electronic ticket. You can then choose the number of bags you want to take, select your seat, confirm your check-in and print your boarding pass. All you have to do is go to the airport and go to the company’s baggage drop-off counter or directly to security checks if you are traveling only with hand baggage.

Air corsica Baggage Allowance
The hand baggage allowance you are entitled to with Air Corsica depends solely on the type of aircraft you are flying on. If your flight is planned on board an ATR, you are authorized to carry with you in the cabin a baggage of 8 kg maximum. On board an A320, you can take 12 kg baggage. In any case, it must not exceed the following dimensions: 55 x 35 x 25 cm. You are also authorized to take a small accessory such as a handbag or laptop bag in the cabin. Note that if your cabin baggage exceeds the authorized limits (in weight and or size), it must be placed in the hold and you must pay the appropriate allowance.
Your Air Corsica plane ticket entitles you to different hold baggage allowances depending on your ticket class and your destination. For a full-price domestic flight (France), at the “subscriber” or “resident” rate, you can check in two pieces of luggage weighing 23 kg each free of charge in the hold. For all other fares, the allowance is limited to one piece of checked baggage of 23 kg. For a flight from or to Europe at the “subscriber” or “resident” rate, you are entitled to two free checked bags of 23 kg each. All other passengers can only check in one piece of checked baggage of 23 kg free of charge.
If your checked baggage exceeds the maximum authorized weight per item (23 kilos), a fixed surcharge will be requested at the time of check-in: 20 euros on network lines outside Paris, between 20 and 70 euros on Paris- lines. Corsica and 55 euros on Europe lines.
Special baggage such as a bicycle, water sports or golf equipment is subject to different taxes and must be mentioned in the reservation.
