About Air Calin
The Air Calin company was created in 1983 under the name “Air Calédonie International”, as an extension of the regional company Air Calédonie. The company operated its first commercial flight on December 2, 1983, between Melbourne and Nouméa. The same year, it leased a Boeing 737-200 which enabled it to operate flights to Nadi, Brisbane and Wallis. A little less than ten years later, Air Calédonie International offered a Business class in its aircraft, called “Hibiscus”.
In 2000, Aircalin launched its flights to Japan following the acquisition of an Airbus A310. Six years later, it opened new tours to destinations in Osaka and Tokyo. In 2012, Aircalin was modernized, revised its logo, renewed its on-board entertainment program, then in 2014, the new livery began to be affixed to the company’s aircraft.
As a French airline company, Aircalin meets the high flight safety standards defined by European Civil Aviation and ICAO. It therefore obtained its ISO certificate in 2015. The second half of the 2010s was devoted to the renewal of the fleet with the acquisition of two A330 Neo (commissioned in 2019) as well as two A320 Neo which will enrich the company in 2020. Today, Aircalin has a fleet of 4 aircraft and serves 10 regular destinations. Frequent flyers benefit from the Flying Blue loyalty program.
