About Aigle Azur
Aigle Azur (ZI) was founded in Tremblay-en-France in 1946, making it the oldest privately owned airline in France. Since its foundation, Aigle Azur has successfully positioned itself in North Africa, where it handles the resettlement of French teachers from Tunisia during the school holidays. The company continued to expand its fleet and range of travel destinations, opening the first routes to Morocco and Lebanon and has a subsidiary in Indochina. Aigle Azur was currently the second largest French airline.
In 2001 it was taken over by the GoFast group and now focuses on national and international flight destinations in the Mediterranean region and in Africa. Frequent flyers can earn miles and receive discounts with the Azur Plus program. Aigle Azur owns Airbus A319-100, A320-200 and A321-200 aircraft.

On-board announcements are adjusted in all target countries: Arabic and Berber for Algeria and Tunisia; Portuguese for Portugal; Bambara and Soninke for Mali and Russian for Russia.
Depending on your flight time and destination, passengers will be offered a hot meal or snack, as well as a variety of free drinks (this offer does not apply to the France-Portugal network). Duty-free products are also available for sale on board. Children also get a special treat.

This service is available on flights from Paris to Algiers, Annaba, Oran and Moscow from Lyon to Algiers and Oran and from Marseille to Algiers, Annaba and Oran.
When checking in, passengers have their own check-in counter to speed up the check-in process.
The free baggage allowance will be increased. The passenger is able to take as many personal items as they want and has access to the VIP lounges, which guarantee a relaxing moment in a calm and pleasant atmosphere to embellish the waiting time before boarding.
Duty-free products are available for sale on board, so you can shop from the comfort of your seat with maximum relaxation.
Eco Premium Class
Since October 2012, Aigle Azur has been offering a new class on board its flights to Lisbon (Paris> Lisbon> Paris): the Eco Premium Class.
The flight plans were modified to meet the needs of the business passenger in order to optimize all return flights that were carried out within one day. There are more than 11 flights a week to and from Lisbon.
Depending on the structure of the respective airport, passengers can take advantage of the dedicated priority check-in desks, fast track and lounge access. Once on board, the national language of the announcements is automatically adapted to the respective destination: Bambara and Soninke for Mali and Russian for Russia. The free baggage allowance per passenger is 25kg (40kg for Bamako). After the start, passengers will be offered free soft drinks and wine.
The new Eco Premium class will also be made available on flights to Bamako and more recently to Vnukovo (Moscow).

- In 1970 the airline was reorganized as a regional airline named Lucas Aviation.
- In 2001, Aigle Azur was taken over by the GoFast group and thus it got back its original name Aigle Azur. The airline focused on popular short and medium-haul routes with scheduled and charter flights.
- Aigle Azur began to gradually replace its Boeing 737 with the Airbus A320 family.
- In 2010, an Aigle Azur aircraft landed in Baghdad, becoming the first flight operated by a European airline after 20 years since the international trade ban against Iraq in 1990.
- In October 2012, the HNA Group announced the acquisition of a 48 percent stake in Aigle Azur in Paris, making it the second largest shareholder after the GoFast Group.
- In December 2012 Aigle Azur received an award for the “Best Cabin Crew” from Goldenflyer.
- Ended its operations in September 2019.
Aigle Azur Check-in
At Aigle Azur, passengers can check in at the counter, at the machine and online.
The French airline enables online check-in 48 hours to 3 hours before the start of the trip.

The airline recommends that all passengers be at the airport at least three hours before takeoff. The airline also offers self-check-in at the machine. This service is available from 48 hours to 30 minutes before departure.
Aigle Azur Baggage Allowance
Aigle Azur recommends that you do not carry liquids in your hand luggage. One piece of hand luggage per passenger is permitted up to a maximum of ten kilograms and 55 x 40 x 20 centimeters. In Business Class, 15 kg of hand luggage can be carried.
On Economy Class flights to Russia, Tunisia, Portugal and Algeria, 20 kg of luggage (30 kg to Algeria for certain promotional flights) can be checked in. Eco Premium Class travelers can take 40 kg on flights to Mali and 25 kg to Russia. Business Class passengers are allowed to check in 40 kg of luggage on Algeria and Russia flights. Small children always have a free baggage allowance of ten kilograms. A piece of luggage may never weigh more than 32 kg.
Wheelchairs are permitted, but you should inform the airline when booking your flight. Smaller musical instruments that do not exceed the hand luggage dimensions may be carried in the cabin. Larger instruments must also be registered in advance and require an extra seat on the plane. Sports equipment may also be carried within the free baggage allowance. Surfboards, windsurf boards and kitesurf boards are not carried by Aigle Azur. Further information can be found on the airline website.

Aigle Azur Seat Selection
The airline allocates its seats as part of the booking process. Passengers who check in online can change the allocated space free of charge. The airline is currently not making any statements regarding the allocation of comfort seats with more legroom. However, if you need an additional seat, you can book a second one. The on-board magazine and a variety of daily press selections are distributed on board. For maximum relaxation, all passengers are offered duty-free products from their comfortable leather seats.
So far, Aigle Azur does not offer internet during the flight. It is currently not known whether the French airline’s fleet should be equipped with WLAN. Check the airline’s website for new information.

Aigle Azur Lounge
The airline improved its services for Business, Eco Premium Class passengers and members of the Azur Plus Infini card by giving them access to a renewed lounge at Paris Orly-South Airport.
The Icare Lounge has opened its doors again since April 2013 after restoration work.
Completely redesigned and designed according to a vegetable-mineral design, the Icare Lounge offers an area of relaxation and comfortable work opportunities while waiting for the next flight.
In addition to a rich buffet consisting of both hearty and sweet dishes and refreshments, all passengers are also offered free Wi-Fi access and national and international press. For Aigle Azur Business Class, this offer is available for passengers to Algiers, Oran, Annaba and Moscow.
