Aeromexico is the largest airline in Mexico. Aeromexico offers national and international scheduled flights. From its base in Mexico City, Aeroméxico serves numerous domestic destinations as well as airports in Asia and Europe, but especially in North, South and Central America. Aeromexico is also the only South American airline that flies directly to Asia. As a founding member of the worldwide flight alliance Sky Team, Aeromexico also works closely with Air France, Delta Air Lines and Mexicana. The airline was founded in 1934, at that time under the name Aeronaves de Mexico. The first flight went from Mexico City to the seaside resort of Acapulco. The company received financial support from the American airline Pan Am during the Second World War. The market position was further expanded by Aeromexico buying up all of its competitors in the 1960s. The airline has had its current name since 1972. The regional route network in particular is very well developed at Aeromexico.
The airline cleverly combines history with modernity in its logo. It shows a symbol of the Aztecs, a knight with an eagle on his head. The most important principles include security, reliability and punctuality. The airline offers an extensive service. There is a first class on all flights. As a First Class traveler, the passenger can expect a priority check-in as well as culinary delights and a variety of entertainment media. The time until the flight can be spent in the exclusive Salón Premier, a high-class lounge. For frequent flyers there is the Club Premier program, where you can receive a variety of awards. Members earn miles on flights with Aeromexico or Sky Team partners, as well as at participating hotels and car rental companies. The miles can later be exchanged for rewards. Aeromexico’s slogan is Vamos por el Mundo, in English, for example, ‘Let’s go out into the world, which perfectly sums up the company’s principles’.
Aeromexico Connect and Aeromexico Contigo are subsidiaries.

For domestic flights, the free allowance for checked baggage is a suitcase that must not weigh more than 25 kg. On USA, Canada and European flights, travelers can check in a bag with a maximum weight of 23 kg. Aeromexico Seat Selection
The Mexican airline allocates its seats in the course of the booking process. Passengers who want a different seat can change it when checking in online. Aeromexico is currently not providing information on the allocation of comfort seats with more legroom and extra seats. You can find news on the airline’s website.
Aeromexico Knee Distance
Because of the airlines who want to reduce the cost of flying more passengers, knee distance is very important especially on long haul flights. The front seats and emergency exit seats are the seats with the highest knee distance. It is generally sold for a fee.
Club Premier Frequent Flyer Program
The Club Premier currency is called Premier Kilometer (KmP). Depending on the tariff class, 50% – 200% of the kilometers flown are credited with Aeromexico. The 17 partners of the SkyTeam Alliance and the neighboring airlines Alaska Airlines, Copa and LAN set their own conditions. The program grants a number of extra bonuses for new members as well as a birthday bonus. The Aeromexico credit cards (Visa, American Express) are available with bonus kilometers and many additional advantages. Additional kilometers are earned with hotel stays, rental cars, points transfer and the use of credit cards. If a few kilometers are missing from the reward you want, you can buy it again.
Club Premier: bonus flights and attractive rewards
Bonus kilometers can be exchanged for award flights with Aeromexico and the partner airlines, as well as for upgrades and the Salon Lounge Pass. With a Club Premier family account, the mileage transfer between family members is free of charge. Bonus kilometers can be spent in the Premier Store and at Premier Games for various products and online games. The option of auctioning premiums such as vacation trips and lifestyle products at auctions is particularly attractive. Gold, platinum and Titanio elite memberships include the usual benefits and are valid for one year each. Members must book at least one flight with Aeromexico within two years, otherwise the kilometers collected will expire.
Aeromexico Food & Beverage
As usual with an airline of classic size, on-board catering at Aeromexico is issued in all booking classes at no extra charge. In the economy there are pastries, peanuts, cookies and other snacks for passengers with a flight duration of less than three hours. In addition, hot and cold drinks are offered, as usual from coffee, tea and water to juices and soft drinks. Alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine are only served after eleven o’clock. Then there is Tequila, the famous Mexican agave brandy.
If the flight takes between three and six hours, depending on the route and time of day, Aeromexico serves snacks or a complete meal and free drinks in economy. A warm meal is always served for long-haul flights of more than six hours. For example omelets, fish dishes and pasta. With all international connections, it is possible to register special requests for meals up to 48 hours before the trip. These include the options vegetarian, vegan, kosher and gluten-free as well as dishes tailored to diabetics or children.
At Aeromexico Class, Business Class is called Premier. On its website, Aeromexico speaks for business only in general of an exclusive menu for the booking class, but does not give any examples. Instead, advertising is carried out with internationally renowned chefs. Testimonials on websites such as One Mile At Time indicate that business passengers are greeted with a glass of champagne and later served on porcelain à la carte. Frequent flyers report that in the business at Aeromexico they had a choice between fish, chicken and vegetarian pasta, followed by ice cream after cheese platter and salad as a starter to the main course. The drinks menu lists not only wines, but also alcoholic beverages. Snacks are therefore available at any time.
Aeromexico offers the standards of an established airline for on-board catering, but is stingy on its website with more detailed information. If in doubt, you should take the opportunity to pre-order a special meal at least two days before the arrival.
Aeromexico Inflight Entertainment
Aeromexico, as a full-service airline, impresses with its high-quality service on all flights and in all classes, which is reflected, among other things, in the range of food and drinks. On long-haul flights, passengers receive full meals and free drinks. In the case of a short-haul flight, the multilingual flight crew serves a snack and free drinks. Thanks to extensive on-board entertainment with film and music channels, the time on board is particularly entertaining. Video games are also possible on selected routes.
